Gorgeous Custom Made Pottery Barn Style Dresser

Here is an absolutely gorgeous handmade custom dresser. It's entirely genuine hardwood that I painted black and distressed around the edges so you can see glimpses of the stunning wood underneath. Compare to Pottery Barn's Essex Dresser. It has the same stepped picture-frame moldings that outline the seven drawers, and the same timeworn elegance.

Perfect Shabby Chic Tea Cart

This is an absolutely darling shabby chic tea cart. I hand painted it in "Heirloom White" before distressing it and waxing it to perfection. There are two leaves on the table and two shelves below. This beautiful tea cart can be used so many different ways: it's adorable as a side or coffee table, use it in the garden as a decorative perch for flowers, or just in the house as an accent piece. Paris Grey China Hutch

This china hutch is simply stunning! I painted it in Annie Sloan's "Paris Grey" and gave it a "Country Grey" table top, then glossed it all over. The hutch has two shelves plus the table top providing ample room for storing books, china, decor, pictures and anything else that strikes your fancy. There's two drawers in the table topped with gorgeous crystal knobs. This hutch is charming beyond words and deliciously Country French.

Lovely French Country Desk

This is an absolutely gorgeous desk I found from Ashley Furniture, originally called "Cottage Retreat". I antiqued the desk using mahogany tint and glaze and replaced the knobs with antique hardware to make it even more lovely. There is shelf for a keyboard, three faux drawers that open into one large storage compartment with one shelf, and plenty of surface space.

Welcome to French Grey Cottage!

I absolutely adore roaming flea markets, yard sales and of course, Craigslist, looking for that hidden treasure that I can take home with me and revamp into something new and wonderful. I give furniture what I refer to as the French Grey treatment. I've spent hours upon hours learning various painting, antiquing, distressing and glazing techniques so that I can turn a ho hum piece of furniture into something stunning.

In this blog I will share with you my work, from the process I go through to the finished product. The majority of the furniture I'll be posting will be for sale, so you'll have the opportunity to actually own that perfect piece of French inspired furniture.
